Hello everyone, my printer deskjet 2855e is having a problem, it's keeps flashing e0 and not working. I just printed something on it a week ago and it worked fine. This printer is also only 2 months old. Not sure what the problem is, I tried resetting and it didn't help. I just opened up the ink cartridge and noticed there is a white paper strip that seems to be standing up kind of high behind the cartridges, I'm not sure if this is normal or not. Please help, thank you!

@Synses, Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
That F0.01.01.02 error on the HP Officejet 6600 usually indicates a firmware-related issue—it often appears during or after a firmware update gone wrong.

Please follow these steps,
Partial Reset

  1. Turn the printer on.
  2. Disconnect the power cablewhile the printer is still on.
  3. Wait 60 seconds.
  4. While holding down the Cancel and OK buttons, plug the power cable back in.
  5. Continue holding both buttons until the printer powers up.

This forces a basic reset which might help clear the error.

Try USB Connection + Reinstall

If you were using Wi-Fi:

  1. Disconnect Wi-Fi.
  2. Connect printer via USB cable.
  3. On your PC, go to Control Panel > Devices and Printers, remove the printer.
  4. Reinstall the full driver from the HP support site for Officejet 6600.

Also, Make sure that the printer firmware version is up to date and restart the printer.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
It sounds frustrating to deal with persistent printer issues. Let's try a few more steps to resolve this:

Check Cartridge Seating:

  • Open the cartridge access door. The carriage should move to the center.
  • Remove all cartridges and gently wiggle them to ensure they are seated correctly.
  • Reinstall the cartridges, making sure any protective tape is removed.

Restart the Printer:

  • Turn off the printer and unplug the power cord from both the printer and the wall outlet.
  • Wait for at least 60 seconds before plugging it back in and turning it on.

Run HP Print and Scan Doctor:

Update Printer Firmware:

Hawks_Eye, thank you for your response.

Unfortunately things are worse now, it is printing one line of gibberish, going to next page and printing a line of gibberish and running through paper until I cancel the job.

Fundamentally all I did was to install the universal ARM/Snapdragon driver. Here's the responses to your actions below.

1. HP website says they are compatible.

2. There are no pending Windows 11 update.  After searching on the HP support area on drivers, it appears that the universal snapdragon print driver may be needed.  I installed SUPD-4.08.1.3348-V4-ARM64 software downloaded from the HP website.  I got an error when it tried to print the test page.  Then I've tried to print documents and am getting the gibberish that I mentioned.  I performed a hard reset on the printer as noted in step 5 below.  At the same time I shut down and restarted my computer.  I then printed documents and got the same gibberish result.

3. Print settings were ok.

4. As I noted in the original post, this is occurring over 3 apps now.  I did try to print from adobe and powerpoint after installing the new driver.  I got the same gibberish result.

5. As noted above, I performed a hard reset.

I was able to print a pdf document from another device.

Now I have no idea what to do.

Re: All lights blinking in HP Deskjet GT 5820

@Tote44, Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

And thanks for sharing the image—what you’re seeing on your HP DeskJet GT 5820 (all lights blinking, display stuck with an “E” and cartridge icons) is a classic sign of a critical error state. Here’s a breakdown of what this typically means and what you can try next:

What the Lights Mean (from your image):

  • All lights blinking simultaneously: Indicates a fatal error—the printer has encountered a condition it cannot recover from automatically.
  • “E” on the display: Stands for “Error.”
  • Cartridge icons blinking: Most commonly means one or both ink cartridges are not recognized, are missing, or are malfunctioning.
  • Wireless & info button LEDs: Also blinking, indicating the printer is not communicating properly over the network.

Steps to Troubleshoot:

Check Ink Cartridges Physically

Remove and reinsert the cartridges:

  • Power off the printer and open the cartridge access door.
  • Take out both the black and color ink cartridges.
  • Make sure there's no tape on the cartridge contacts.
  • Clean the copper-colored contacts with a lint-free cloth (lightly dampened with distilled water).
  • Reinsert them firmly and close the door.

Check for Paper Jams or Obstructions

  • Remove any paper from input and output trays.
  • Open all access areas and inspect for even tiny scraps of paper or obstructions.
  • Rotate the rollers gently if you can.

Hard Reset

Since the factory reset didn’t work, try a hardware reset:

  1. With the printer powered on, disconnect the power cord from the back.
  2. Wait 60 seconds.
  3. Press and hold the Power button for 15 seconds while reconnecting the cord.
  4. Release the button and see if the lights stabilize.

Service Mode Reset (Optional)

Try pressing and holding:

  • Cancel (X) + Wireless + Power until the printer powers off and restarts. This sometimes triggers a deep firmware reset. If it doesn't, just unplug and restart manually.

Update Firmware (If Accessible)

If you're ever able to connect to the printer briefly via USB, try using HP Print and Scan Doctor (Windows) or update firmware manually from HP's website: 👉HP GT 5820 Drivers and Firmware

You may refer to this document.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.

Hi @Cheryl150,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding your printer!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

Try these steps:

Check USB Connection:

  • Make sure the USB cable is properly connected both to the printer and your MacBook Air. Try using a different USB cable if possible, as the cable might be faulty.

Verify Printer Status:

  • Ensure the printer is powered on, has no error lights, and is ready to print. Check for any paper jams or low ink alerts that could affect printing.

Reset the Printing System:

  • On your Mac, go to System Preferences> Printers & Scanners.
  • Right-click in the printer list area and select Reset Printing System. This will remove all printers but can clear any stuck or corrupted print jobs.
  • Add your printer again by selecting the + button and ensuring it appears correctly.

Install Updated Drivers:

  • Visit the HP Software & Driver Downloads page and ensure you have the latest drivers installed for your Officejet Pro 8100.
  • HP might have specific drivers for newer versions of MacOS; if not, try using generic drivers like AirPrint.

Update MacOS:

  • Ensure MacOS is updated to the latest version. If not, go to System Preferences> Software Update and check for updates.

Check Printer Preferences:

  • When reinstalling the printer, select it in the Printer list and make sure the correct driver is selected (HP Officejet Pro 8100 or AirPrint).

Test Using a Different Application:

  • Sometimes the issue might be application-specific. Try printing from another application (e.g., Preview, TextEdit) to see if the issue persists.

Use HP Smart App:

  • Install the HP Smart App from the App Store for additional setup assistance and troubleshooting options. It might help with connecting and diagnosing any issues through a guided setup process.

I hope this helps.

Printing random blank spaces on pages

Hello! Out of nowhere the other day my printer started printing the flyers I had made on canva with random squares or rectangles of white. Some are bigger, some are smaller, and they print in the same spots when I reprint the pages. The printPDF downloaded correctly, but when printed the boxes always appear. This doesn't happen with everything I print, but it happened again with a different PDF I downloaded from canva. I'm trying to figure out if this is an issue that occurred during download (although the pdf truly looks normal) or if it's a mechanical issue with the printer. The blank boxes are in different spots on different flyers, but are the same if I print the same flyer again. I'm not sure what's going on. Help! Thanks in advance 🙂

Printer will not reboot

My printer is stuck at the first bootup screen.  The first out of 7 blue dots is selected and the progress bar reached the end and stopped there.  Printer appears to be offline in the HP Smart software.  I have tried unplugging, waiting and restarting and it is still stuck. There is no way to check the firmware as it has not finished rebooting. I cannot do a hard reset for the same reason. It appears that there are several people with this same issue and I have not seen any resolution to this problem.

Hi @Hawks_Eye,

Thank you for your suggestions.

I Downloaded and Re-installed Firmware 6.22.4.28 ==> This fixed my shutdown issue, i.e. now when I press the power button I get the shutting down message and then the printer turns off.

However, after re-installing firmware, the printer still did not enter sleep mode.
I tried a Factory Reset (again) and as before the printer entered sleep mode but after a few hours the display came on and did not turn off again.
