If your HP Envy Inspire 7200e printer is showing a question mark (?) in the print box, that usually indicates your Mac or Windows system can't properly communicate with the printer, or it can't identify it correctly.

Let’s go through a few steps to fix it:

Check the Connection

  • If it's a wireless printer, make sure it's connected to your Wi-Fi (not in setup mode or disconnected).
  • On the printer screen, go to:
    Settings > Network Setup > Wi-Fi Settings
    Then check the connection status.
  • If it’s USB, unplug and plug it back into another USB port.

Restart Devices

  • Power off the printer and unplug it for 30 seconds.
  • Restart your computer.
  • Plug in and power on the printer again.

Remove & Re-add the Printer

On Windows:

  • Go to Settings > Devices > Printers & Scanners.
  • Click on your printer and select Remove device.
  • Click Add a printer or scanner and let Windows detect it again.

On Mac:

  • Go to System Settings > Printers & Scanners.
  • Select the printer and click the minus (-) button to remove it.

My Office Pro printer started to randomly print pages that are all black with white font instead of the normal white pages with black typeface. It will do that sometimes within a multiple page document, where it will print 2 of the pages black with white font and the remaining 3 pages the way they should be - white pages with black typeface.  Any suggestions as to what is happening and how I can fix it?

We have replaced the blue cartridge multiple times but it does not print any blue color. Anyone know if there is some kind of jam we can clear for that one ink cartridge?

Print jobs deleting after spooling - don't reach printer

HP M281 & Windows 7 connected USB

Hi, I bought this multi unit a few years ago and it worked perfectly until a couple weeks ago. Now, when I send a job to the spooler, it completes spooling then shows "printing" or "deleting" for a fraction of a second and disappears with no activity from printer or error messages. Works normally printing test sheets and from flash drive. I've tried everything I could think of and nothing has any effect on it. So far I've ---

Uninstall printer and software 3 times cleaning files remaining in Program Files.
Reinstalled both with latest and original CD.
Disconnected/reconnected both USB and power cord.
Updated firmware.
Used HP Print and Scan Doctor - says it fixed spooling issues but no change
Tried different drivers
Cleared printer memory. Restored defaults.
Ran sfc in Windows
Checked System 32 folders - no jobs stuck there.
Checked settings in services.msc including dependent and no issues there
Empied Temp folder

I'm seriiously stuck here on this, so I need somebody smarter than I am. Help! please.

I am trying to print to 11 x 17 (paper is in Tray 2).  I keep getting an error message that it is unable to print...something about paper mismatched.  Please help.  This is a new printer that I recently set up.

WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER!!!!! I have been trying for over half an hour to get a number so I can speak to a human being to get support with printer issues.  And I get is the run around.  Ready to throw the printer out the window and smash it and go but a new one, from a different brand.  

How do you contact a real person who you can explain the issue and get help????>

Hi. Tried all of the above. Still getting the error on occasion. I did find a 12mmx6mmx1.5mm black rubber pad with two sided tape on one side that appears to have been ejected from the printer. Any idea where it might of come from internally and could that be the cause of the issue?

My printerhead is clogged. How do I clean it?

A mismatch error is going to indicate that the paper size the job is requesting and the paper size loaded in the printer do not match. A common issue is that the correct paper is loaded in the tray, but the paper size and type has not been set on the control panel of the printer. Or in the case of a PDF, the option "choose paper based on PDF size" is selected and the PDF is either in an odd size or comes from a region of the world that uses different paper sizes than you do. For example, European documents are often formatted for A3 and not ledger or 11x17.
