Unfortunately, there is no "new magic" for this older printer.
Common issues that result in jammed business card paper can include (and might not be limited to):
- Dirty printer - Printing paper that is too heavy (beyond the specifications) requires the printer be clean and sparkly - any dirt on the pickup rollers or anywhere along the paper travel path can cause trouble.
- Worn out gears and mechanics - there is no fix for this. There is a toll for long service.
- Paper is too thick -- Note >> This paper has always been too heavy - the printer never supported "business card" weight paper. What? Most of the better quality OfficeJet Pro printers can handle at least the mid-weight business card paper when the printer is new -- none of the printers actually support paper in this weight class.
- Paper is too dry, too damp, curled, or otherwise not suitable - Yes, this can be a "thing". Try different paper.
- Printer is not aware of the Paper Size / Type - Tray and Paper

It sounds like your HP LaserJet P1102w printer is having trouble printing PDFs and certain image files, while Word documents print fine. Re: Printer error
Hi @rich564
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
The 0xc19a0013 error is related to an issue with the printer's ink system. This error typically appears when there is a problem with the printhead, ink cartridges, or the printer's internal ink system. It can happen on many HP printers, and there are several troubleshooting steps you can follow to fix it.
Steps to Fix Printer Error 0xc19a0013:
1. Turn off and Reset the Printer
- Turn off the printer using the power button.
- Unplug the printer from the power source and leave it unplugged for at least 30 seconds.
- Plug the printer back in and turn it on again. This can sometimes reset the printer's internal systems and clear temporary errors.
2. Check Ink Cartridges
The error could be due to a problem with one of the ink cartridges.
- Turn off the printer and open the ink cartridge access door.
- Remove the ink cartridges and inspect them for any visible issues like:
- Leaks or ink residue.
- Damage to the cartridges.
- Clogged printhead or cartridge nozzles.
- Clean the ink cartridge contacts and printhead using a soft, lint-free cloth. Make sure there is no dust, ink build-up, or debris blocking the contacts.
- Reinstall the ink cartridges, ensuring they are properly seated.
3. Perform a Printer Reset
If a power cycle doesn't resolve the issue, you can reset the printer to its default settings:
- Turn off the printer.
- Press and hold the “#” and “9” buttons on the printer’s keypad (if it has one).
- While holding the buttons, turn the printer back on.
- Release the buttons once the printer starts resetting.
4. Run the Printer’s Cleaning Cycle
Sometimes the printhead gets clogged, especially if the printer has not been used in a while.
- Go to the printer’s settings via the control panel or the HP Smart app and look for the clean printhead option. Run the cleaning cycle to remove any blockages in the ink nozzles.
I hope this helps.

As you have attempted a region reset previously without success, I highly recommend contacting our phone support team directly. This is a critical reset, and if something goes wrong, there is a risk that the printer may become inoperable (bricked).
Our phone support team will be able to guide you through the process safely and ensure the reset is performed correctly.

Re: MY OFFICEJET PRO 7720 IS NOT WORKING. EVERY TIME I TRY TO PRINT SOMETHING THE DISPLAY SHOWS A...
Hi @Johnt50
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
It sounds like your HP OfficeJet Pro 7720 is encountering a mismatch between the paper size settings in the printer and the actual paper size in the tray. While you've selected A4 in the printer settings, it seems the printer might still be detecting the paper size as A3 due to a configuration issue or a sensor error.
Here are some troubleshooting steps to resolve the issue:
Step 1: Check Paper Tray and Paper Size Settings
Verify Paper Placement in the Tray: Ensure the A4 paper is properly loaded in the paper tray, and the tray guide is adjusted to fit the paper size. Sometimes, if the paper is slightly misaligned, the sensor might not detect the correct paper size.
Check the Tray and Paper Size Settings:
- Ensure that the paper tray is correctly configured for A4 size. Some printers allow you to manually select the paper size for each tray.
- Open the printer tray and check the alignment of the paper. The paper should fit snugly, and the tray guide should match the paper size exactly.
Step 2: Set Paper Size Correctly in Printer Settings
- Set the Paper Size on the Printer:
- On the printer display screen, navigate to the Paper Settings or Tray Settings menu. Double-check that it is set to A4 for both the paper tray and the print job.
- Check the Printer Settings on Your Computer:
- When you send the print job from your computer, double-check that you've selected A4 as the paper size in the print dialog.
- If you're printing from a specific application, ensure that A4 is selected as the paper size in the application itself, not just in the printer settings.
Step 3: Update Printer Firmware and Drivers
- Update the Printer Firmware:
- Sometimes a firmware issue can cause the printer to misread paper sizes. Make sure your printer's firmware is up to date. Visit the HP Support website and search for your printer model (HP OfficeJet Pro 7720) to check if there are any firmware updates available.
- Update Printer Drivers:
- Ensure that you have the latest HP printer drivers installed on your computer. Outdated drivers can cause mismatches between the print settings and the printer.
Step 4: Reset Printer to Factory Defaults
If none of the above steps work, you may want to reset the printer to its factory default settings to clear any potential configuration issues:
- From the printer's control panel, go to Settings> Printer Maintenance.
- Select Restore Defaults or Reset to Factory Defaults.
- After resetting, reconfigure the paper size and tray settings to A4 and try printing again.
I hope this helps.
Please mark this post as “Accepted Solution” if the issue is resolved and if you feel this reply was helpful click “Yes”.
Re: Printer has power and internet connection but wont print. Tried instructions, turn off and un...
Hi @Gunner110
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
It sounds like your printer has power and is connected to the internet, but it’s still not printing. Given that you’ve already turned off and unplugged the printer, here are a few more things to check and troubleshoot to resolve the issue:
Step 1: Check the Printer's Queue
- Clear the Print Queue:
- Sometimes print jobs get stuck in the queue, especially if a job is canceled or interrupted.
- On Windows: Open the Control Panel> Devices and Printers> Right-click on your printer and select See what's printing. If there are any stuck jobs, click Cancel All Documents to clear the queue.
- On Mac: Go to System Preferences> Printers & Scanners> Select your printer > Open Print Queue. If there are any stuck print jobs, cancel them.
Step 2: Restart the Print Spooler Service (Windows)
Sometimes the Print Spooler service can get stuck. Restarting this service can help clear issues with printing:
- Press Win + R to open the Run dialog.Type services.msc and press Enter.
- In the Services window, scroll down and find Print Spooler.
- Right-click on Print Spooler and select Restart.Try printing again to see if the issue is resolved.
Step 3: Check Printer Settings
Make sure the printer is correctly set as the default printer:
- Go to Control Panel> Devices and Printers (on Windows) or System Preferences> Printers & Scanners (on Mac).
- Right-click on your printer and select Set as Default Printer (or Make Default on Mac).
Step 4: Verify Printer Connection
- If the printer is connected via Wi-Fi, check that the Wi-Fi connection is stable. If you’re using a USB connection, try a different USB port or cable to rule out connectivity issues.
Step 5: Printer’s Display for Error Codes or Messages
Check the printer’s display for any error messages or warnings. If there’s an issue like an empty ink/toner cartridge, paper jam, or low ink level, that could prevent the printer from printing.
Step 6: Printer Test
Try printing a test page directly from the printer’s control panel:
- Go to the Settings or Setup menu on your printer.Look for Print a Test Page or Printer Status Report.
- If the printer prints the test page, it confirms the printer is working but may have an issue with your computer’s connection.
Step 7: Reinstall Printer Drivers
There may be an issue with your printer drivers. Reinstalling the drivers can help:
- Uninstall Printer: Go to Control Panel> Devices and Printers, right-click on your printer and select Remove Device or Uninstall.
- Download and Install Latest Drivers: Go to the HP Support website, search for your printer model, and download the latest drivers. Install them and then reconnect your printer.
Step 8: Check for Software Conflicts
If you’re using any third-party software for printing (e.g., print management software or a firewall), temporarily disable it to check if it’s blocking the print job.
Step 9: Printer Firmware Update
If your printer has power and is connected to the internet, make sure it has the latest firmware:
- Go to the printer’s web interface (usually accessible through its IP address in a browser).
- Check for any available firmware updates and install them.
I hope this helps.
Please mark this post as “Accepted Solution” if the issue is resolved and if you feel this reply was helpful click “Yes”.
Re: Brando HP 8139E recognizes 8 1/2 x 11 paper but 4 x 6 photo paper always says out of paper
@ascending, Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding your HP 8139e!
We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.
It sounds like your HP printer is not recognizing the 4x6 photo paper properly. Here are a few troubleshooting steps to resolve the issue:
Check Paper Size Settings
- On your computer, go to Printer Properties or Print Settings before printing.
- Ensure that the selected paper size is 4x6 inches instead of 8.5x11.
Load Paper Correctly
- Make sure the 4x6 photo paper is inserted properly into the correct tray.
- Adjust the paper guides so they fit snugly against the paper without bending it.
Select the Correct Paper Type
- In the print settings, change the paper type to Photo Paper instead of regular paper.
Check the Paper Source
- If your printer has multiple paper trays, ensure it is set to pull from the correct tray that holds the 4x6 paper.
Restart the Printer
- Turn off the printer, unplug it for 30 seconds, then plug it back in and restart.
Update or Reinstall Printer Drivers
- Visit HP official website and download the latest drivers for your model.
Manually Feed the Paper (if applicable)
- Some printers require manual feeding for smaller photo paper sizes.
If the issue persists, try running the printer’s diagnostic tool via the HP Smart app or HP Print and Scan Doctor. Let me know if you need more help! 😊
Take care, and have an amazing day!

Problems with Outlook 365 Quick Print to HP LaserJet Printer
We have Windows 11, Outlook 365, Adobe Acrobat Reader and all are updated.
We purchased an HP Color Laser Jet Pro MFP 4301fdn. We installed it with the software from the HP website with no problems. We are using USB for the connection.
We received an email that has pdf files and one of the pdf files prints this error when using Outlook 365 Quick Print:
PCL XL error
Subsystem: Kernel
Error: UnsupportedBinding
Operators: 0xfe
Position: 0.
The other pdf files print fine with Quick Print. Then we printed the one problem pdf to an HP LaserJet M506 and then to an HP LaserJet M507 and it printed fine on both.
We then called HP Support and after an hour and a half, they installed the PS driver and that didn't work, they said it's a Microsoft problem.
Any help would be appreciated.
wifi set up screen is locked
I changed my home router and cannot connect my HP OfficeJet Pro 8020 Series printer to the new network. The screen to reset the printer is locked. I get the message, “ this feature has been locked, touch unlock to unlock this feature. It asks for a username and password. I don't remember adding either to this printer and I have no idea what it could be.
Is there a way of reset / removing this from my printer? I need to connect the printer to the new router.
