Hi! I'm losing steam.

Can not get my Color LaserJet Pro M454dw to print.

All looks fine and then when I go to print it cancels on me.

I can not find a number to call or anyone to email at HP and when I enter the serial number and product number in it says it's not correct. I'm going a bit mad!

Hi @JCEJR,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to assist you.

If your HP OfficeJet 4650 has suddenly started printing in Single Cartridge Mode, despite both cartridges being properly installed, here are a few steps to resolve the issue:

1. Check Printer Display for Errors

  • If there’s a message like “Single Cartridge Mode”, it might indicate the printer isn't detecting one of the cartridges correctly.

2. Restart the Printer

1) Take out the cartridges

2) Unplug the power cord from the printer & wall.

3) Press and hold the power button down for 15 seconds and release the power button, wait for about 30 seconds.

4) Plug the power cord back into the printer and wall, ensure the printer is plugged into the wall & not into a surge protector.

5) Insert the cartridges back into the printer.

Remove the cartridges > Unplug the power cord > Wait for 30 seconds > Plug the power cord back in > Insert the cartridges

3. Disable Single Cartridge Mode (If Manually Enabled)

  • On the printer display, navigate to:
    • Setup > Preferences > Single Cartridge Mode
    • If there is an option to Disable, select it.

4. Update Printer Firmware

  • Refer to the steps on this link to update the printer firmware

5. Run HP Print and Scan Doctor (Windows)

  • Download and run HP Print and Scan Doctor to detect and fix issues.

What operating system and what drivers are you using?

Insufficient Copy Memory

We are trying to use our machine to make a copy, and the error code: 20.001 continues to pop up saying the memory is low, printing job canceled.

Can someone tell me how to fix this? I have done the factory reset. I have powered it off, and disconnected from the wall power source. We have deleted the device from the computer and then reestablished it to our system again.

I am at a loss. Does this device have a memory card that needs to be replaced? I cant seem to find anything behind a door that would indicate that it is for a memory card.

This is our main printer in our office, and need it to function correctly.

TIA

ERROR MESSAGE: "One or more cartridges is missing or damaged."

My printer was working fine until my ink ran out. I put in ALL new cartridges, making sure they were the correct ones and in the right order. I have wiped the contacts with lint-free cloth and they all clicked into place. I've double-checked there is no tape on the openings. I've tried disconnecting power source and cables and restarting.

Yet the durn error message is still there. Is there anything else I can do?

Hi @existentialmutt,

Welcome to The HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

I understand you are facing an issue with your HP Color LaserJet Pro MFP M283fdw is displaying "The wireless radio is not functioning", this typically indicates a hardware failure with the printer’s internal wireless module. Here’s what you can do:

Troubleshooting Steps Before Replacement

Try these steps first to confirm it's a hardware failure:

Restart the Printer

  • Turn off the printer, unplug it from power, and wait 5 minutes.
  • Plug it back in and turn it on.
  • Check if Wi-Fi starts working.

Reset Network Settings

  • On the printer control panel, go to Setup > Network Setup > Restore Network Settings.
  • Try reconnecting to Wi-Fi after the reset.

Check for Firmware Updates

  • Go to Setup > Printer Maintenance > Update Firmware.
  • If an update is available, install it and restart the printer.

Try Wired or USB Connection

  • If Wi-Fi is unavailable, connect the printer via Ethernet or USB to verify if printing works.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.

Hi @Jmaher,

Welcome to The HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

I understand you are getting the 0x6100004a error on your HP OfficeJet Pro 6978 usually indicates a carriage jam or an issue with the ink system. Since the cartridge carriage is not moving to the left when you open the printer lid, the carriage may be stuck or obstructed. Here’s what you can try:

Step 1: Power Reset the Printer

  1. Turn off the printer.
  2. Unplug the power cord from the back of the printer and from the wall outlet.
  3. Wait for at least 2-3 minutes.
  4. Plug the power cord back into the wall outlet directly (avoid using power strips or surge protectors).
  5. Reconnect the power cord to the printer and turn it on.
  6. Check if the error is resolved.

Step 2: Manually Move the Carriage

Since the carriage isn’t moving when you open the lid, try the following:

  1. Turn off the printer and unplug it.
  2. Open the printer lid and locate the carriage (where the ink cartridges are installed).
  3. Try to gently push the carriage to the left or right. If it’s stuck, do not force it.
  4. If it moves freely, move it to the far left and then back to the right a few times to ensure it's not obstructed.
  5. If it’s stuck, check for any small bits of paper, debris, or ink buildup that might be blocking the carriage path. Remove any obstructions.
  6. Close the lid, plug the printer back in, and turn it on.

Step 3: Remove and Reinsert the Cartridges

  1. Turn on the printer and open the ink cartridge access door.
  2. If the carriage moves to the left, remove all the ink cartridges.
  3. Inspect them for leaks or damage.
  4. Reinsert the cartridges one by one, ensuring they click into place.
  5. Close the lid and restart the printer.

Step 4: Clean the Carriage Path and Printhead

If the carriage was stuck due to ink buildup:

  1. Turn off the printer and unplug it.
  2. Dampen a lint-free cloth with distilled water.
  3. Gently clean the carriage rails and any visible ink buildup around the printhead area.
  4. Let it dry completely before turning the printer back on.

Step 5: Perform a Firmware Update

If the issue persists:

  1. Download and install the latest firmware update from HP’s website:
    • HP Software & Drivers
  2. Restart the printer after the update.

Step 6: Perform a Semi-Full Reset

If none of the above steps work, you can try a semi-full reset:

  1. Turn off the printer.
  2. Press and hold the Back button () and Cancel (X) button.
  3. While holding, turn on the printer.
  4. Continue holding the buttons until the HP logo appears.
  5. Release the buttons and wait for the printer to restart.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
