Re: HP 8610 failed reset
So I ended up taking the printer apart really the left side panel. Then you can move the gear that moves the printhead and free it up. I was able to then remove and replace the printhead. The printer then initiated a restart protocol and I was back in business. Look for HP8160 dissasembly on You Tube for help. Not crazy hard taking it apart a little more challenging getting it back together just in getting all the pieces lined up.
HP Smart Tank 615 keeps on pausing (by it self)
My printer keeps pausing new print jobs; I can unpause (play) it, but it pauses again.
I can print test pages to it without problems.
I am on MacOS 14.5 (23F79).
Cartridge malfunction
HP 8710 cartridge not communicating
Please help me to change my email address from hoyland2@btinternet and change it to sheelaghhoyland@
I need to reorder my printer ink and to update my email address. Can you help please?

Re: Laserjet pro CP 1520 won't turn on
Hi @RvonAlt,
Welcome to the HP Support Community.
I'd be happy to help you!
If your HP LaserJet CP1520 Pro Color printer isn't turning on despite trying different power cords and outlets, it could be an issue with the internal power supply, a faulty power button, or other internal components. Here’s a step-by-step guide to troubleshooting and potential solutions:
1. Check the Power Connection
- Ensure a Firm Connection: Double-check that the power cord is securely connected to both the printer and the power outlet.
- Test the Power Outlet: Plug a different device into the same outlet to confirm that the outlet is functioning correctly.
2. Inspect the Power Button
- Look for Damage: Inspect the power button for any physical damage or debris that might be preventing it from functioning correctly.
- Press Firmly: Sometimes, the power button may not engage properly if not pressed firmly.
3. Reset the Printer
- Unplug the Printer: Disconnect the printer from the power outlet.
- Wait: Leave it unplugged for at least 10-15 minutes to ensure any residual power is drained.
- Re-plug and Power On: Plug the printer back into the power outlet and attempt to power it on again.
4. Check the Internal Power Supply
- Internal Power Supply Failure: If the printer still doesn’t turn on, the internal power supply unit (PSU) could be faulty. This is a common issue in printers as they age. The PSU is responsible for converting AC power from the outlet to the DC power required by the printer's components.
- Test the PSU (If Comfortable): If you’re comfortable opening the printer (and it’s out of warranty), you can check for any obvious signs of damage on the power supply unit, such as burnt components or loose connections. However, this should be done with caution.
5. Consider Professional Repair
- Contact HP Support: If the printer is still under warranty, contact HP Support for assistance. They may offer a repair or replacement.
- Professional Repair Service: If it’s out of warranty, you might consider taking the printer to a professional repair service. They can diagnose and potentially replace the internal power supply or any other faulty components.
6. Evaluate Replacement
- Cost of Repair vs. Replacement: If the printer is quite old, weigh the cost of repair against the cost of purchasing a new printer. In some cases, it might be more economical to replace the printer rather than repair it.
If none of these steps work, it’s likely a hardware issue inside the printer, and repair or replacement may be necessary.
Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance
