Printer is getting stuck in initializing stage, it will not go Ready. There is no error displayed.

HP LJ P2055DN

Printer powers up, displays the HP logo and then goes to Initializing. The motor runs and the gears turn.

At that point, it flashes the power led and the attention led  4 times and is stuck in a loop. It never comes Ready.

The engine test will not run.

The formatter board has been replaced twice and the problem symptoms do not change.
The odds for getting the same error on the 2 replacement boards as the original board make me think that the formatter board is not the problem.

Possible fuser heater or fuser heat sensor seems like the next step.

Hi,

ty for the answer.

I've already tried the cable solution, it didn't work.
I cannot update the firmware, because the application does not recognize the printer.
I can't do a factory reset because I don't get to the printer menu

HP ePrint will not work. Symptoms:

- ePrint Server Status: Printer is connected to Web Services.

- Printer's Email Address:  Unable to handle the request. Try again later.

- Cannot access any eServices - not even printing info page

- The service used to work

Things I've done:

- Latest firmware installed - confirmed in browser interface as latest

- Printer has open access on all ports and protocols to the Internet

- When I send an email containing an attachment to the printers address I get a confirmation email but the printer does not print

- I have called HP support - first time took an hour on the phone and they sent generic info and closed the case - I cannot reopen it

- Second time I called the guy didn't understand how it works and was trying to read the manual. Total waste of time.

Does anyone at HP understand how their products work and how to resolve this problem please?

Jon

Hi,

Thank you for your reply and guidance.

Unfortunately I have tried all suggested methods and the same error message still displays.

I looks like I need to purchase a new printhead maybe?

Carriage Jam

I have owned this printer approx 2 years,  No problems,  Haven't used it in a week or so.  It now displays a 'carrier jam' message on the display.  I have checked the carrier run for any debris or obstructions, there aren't any.  I have cleaned the rollers/paper feed underneath, changed ink cartridges, unplugged the power cord, removed plug from the socket, then waited for over 60 secs and connected back up and still no change. I have also changed to a better quality paper.  I have checked for firmware updates and all is up to date.  Any ideas?

Phantom Printing Attempt But Nothing Printed

Yesterday my printer sprang into life and indicated it was going to print.  It is on wifi, my phone hotspot, properly password protected etc.    I can easily tell how many and which devices are connected to the hotspot and no devices other than my choosing have been connected.

No pages printed and printer went to sleep.  There was nothing in the printer queue.

Today HP Smart shows that 2 pages printed on 27 June.  Nothing had come out of the printer and I hadn't sent anything to the printer.

Clearly a printer gremlin.

@ZPENVY5530, Welcome to the HP Support Community! I’m here to help.

I understand you get frequent carriage jam errors.

One of the reasons could be the age of the printer and the internal mechanical parts. Also, check for any jams/obstructions inside the printer.

Kindly follow the steps mentioned in these documents - Carriage jam or E3 error and 'Paper Jam' Error

Hi @dearmurali78,

Welcome to the HP Support Community

I'd like to help!

i understand that you are getting an error "check printer" when you try to print.

To asssit better:-

  • Does the copy print out the same way?
  • Do you see any error on the printer display which show E1,E2,E3,E4?

While you respond to that you may try the below steps to resolve the issue:

Perform a power reset on the printer.

  1. Turn the printer on, if it is not already on.
  2. Wait until the printer is idle and silent before you continue.
  3. With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer.
  4. Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.
  5. Wait at least 60 seconds.
  6. Plug the power cord back into the wall outlet.
NOTE: HP Recommends connecting the printer power cord directly to the wall outlet
  7. Reconnect the power cord to the rear of the printer.
  8. Turn on the printer, if it does not automatically turn on.
  9. Wait until the printer is idle and silent before you proceed.

@3bettins, Welcome to the HP Support Community! I’m here to help.

I understand you are not able to print due to this error. Apologies for the inconvenience caused.

First, we will have to fix the error related to the door. Check for any obstructions/damages to the ink cartridge access door.

Reset the printer

  1. With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer.
  2. Wait at least 60 seconds.
  3. Reconnect the power cord to the rear of the printer.
  4. Turn ON the printer, if it does not automatically turn on.
  5. Wait until the printer is idle and silent before you proceed.

Note: HP recommends connecting the printer directly to a wall outlet rather than a surge protector or a power strip.

Try making a copy from the flatbed glass. If the error about the door persists, I'm afraid this is a hardware failure.

Re: HP Deskjet 6122 Printer - paper feed light blinking

Hello,

I received another reply from another allegedly legitimate hp tech support person who said he needed my full name, mailing address, email address and phone number so he could communicate with me through "social media" - which I don't use.

I reported that suspicious reply to the moderator who wrote back to confirm that the support agent who requested that info was, I  fact, a real HP support rep - which I still find hard to believe. He never asked for my serial number nor did he mention anything about private messaging - he just said he needed this additional info so he could communicate with me through social media - and he never said which social media outlet either.

I tell you this whole thing stinks and seems to be nothing more than a waste of my time. As a long standing member of many community forums, never have I been asked to reveal ALL my personal contact information as a condition for providing support. And never have I been asked to side step the forum I favor of communicating via some unidentified form of social media. This blatantly smacks of being nothing more than a means

for gaining addition information by HP - additional information what isn't relevant to the issue ( never was I asked for the serial number - a piece of information that I would think is crucial for further technical investigative efforts. This forum is just a waste of time - a mistake I won't make again as I do not intend to continue to use the HP forums now or in the future based on my experience this far.

With assistance from daughter more knowledgeable than I, we seem to have fixed whatever the problem is/was. Don't think all the of the steps you recommended were used, but the printer seems to awaking as needed without a hard shut-down (pulling the plug).  Did this 3 days ago and so far so good.  Will let you know if it re-emerges.  Thank you.

hello. My printer won't turn off unless I unplug it. The touch screen doesn’t respond and is stuck on the blue and white HP logo screen. I have tried all the obvious things like completely unplugging the cable from both the printer and the wall socket. I have also tried plugging it in to a different socket but nothing. Please could anyone give me any advise on this matter.
