Hi,
My company has an HP OfficeJet 4630. As soon as we turn it on there is an error message that says:
" Carraige Jam. The printer carraige cannot move. Open the ink cartridge access door, clear any paper jam or obstruction, ensure the ink cartridges levers are lowered and snapped into place."
I have checked the printer and see no paper whatsoever that could be the cause.
At the moment I cannot move the carraige on my own physically. I've pulled on it as hard as I can (not trying to break it) but with no luck. It is stuck in the far right position. Because it is stuck in this position I only have access to the spot where the tri-color ink goes in. The spot where the black ink would usually go in is not accessible since the carraige is all the way to the right side.
I've tried several of the troubleshooting steps listed online but have had no luck:
1. I've restarted the printer to see if that would clear the error message.
2. I've checked for any paper or obstructions
3. I loaded new tri-color toner (the spot that I have access to) hoping that would maybe clear the error.
Of course this printer is not under warranty any longer but we want to use it if possible.
Does anyone have any suggestions to fix the issue? I'm assuming maybe it's an issue with the motor that makes the carraige move from side to side, but that's a guess.
