Personal Computer: Using AVG, plus have Peerblock and Netlimiter. All have been disabled, along with Win firewall

Personal Laptop: Using Microsoft Security Essentials. Have also disabled the real-time protection, disabled Win firewall and killed all firewall/MSE services.

Work Laptop: Have ESET installed. This is work-domain controlled and should not be disabled, thus I have not done so.

Another laptop tried was a family members' work laptop, not sure but I think it has McAfee Antivirus. Also have not done the disabling.

On personal comp and laptop have tried uninstalling, as well as deleting the network discovery printer ports and then re-installing with antivirus and firewall disabled.

Do you have any idea which ports/protocols the automatic network discovery utilises?

I might install Wireshark at some point and inspect the packets when it's working vs when it's not working. I believe the printer FW stops responding to certain requests...
