My three-year-old Officeject 6500 e709n has a display panel whose pixels are so eroded that I can no longer read the panel's error messages and prompts. E.g.: today I wanted to copy onto two-sided pages, but I couldn't read "Two-sided" on the panel and solved the problem only by consulting the user manual and correctly (miraculously) guessing the number of times I had to push the Copy button before the "two-sided" prompt appreared. (Ten times, as I recall.)
The printer works perfectly apart from this significant problem, so I hate to junk it because of a lousy display panel. HP service was no help at all. Anyone else have this problem? Know a workaround?
