Sounds like this may be a configuration issue or an installation issue. Can you tell me how this printer is connected (wireless, Ethernet, or USB)? Also are you using the CD-ROM or the driver download? I would suggest removing the software from the PC and then installing through the link below if you are installing from the CD :
