Hello,
I would suggest doing an L3 uninstall, and then clean the registry of all HP software that has to do with the printer.
1. Run disk cleanup on your computer- you can pass this step if you want
2. Download and run the full feature software and drivers below. (select your OS)
3. Once the download is done extracting, cancel the download.
4.. Press the Windows key + R on the keyboard to bring up the run menu.
5. Type %temp% in the run field and click OK.
6. Look for, and open the folder starting with 7z (Example: 7zS2356)
7. Open folder Util
8. Open folder CCC
9. Run the uninstall_ L4.bat
10. When the uninstall has completed restart the computer
11. Run Disk cleanup from Accessories\ System Tools
12. Download and install the latest version of Adobe flash player
13. Use this tool to clean the system and registry. Note: This utility is not HP sponsored or approved. HP and I are not responsible for damages or loss of data caused by the utility. This step is optional. You can skip it if you want.
14. Download and run the full feature software and drivers below (select your OS)
15. Run the download to reinstall the printer
Note: Before making any changes to the registry make sure and make a backup copy.
Back up registry:
- Type regedit in the search programs and files
- Click file, and then export
- Type file name, and chose save to location
TAKE OUT ONLY THESE KEYS/FOLDERS!!!
HKEY_CURRENT_USER > Printers>DevModes2 > *6500*
- (delete printer name from window list; may need to check DevMode and Settings folders, too)
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE > software> Hewlett Packard > Digital Imaging folder
- (delete ENTIRE folder – IF computer NOT an HP, delete the ENTIRE HEWLETT PACKARD folder)
HKEY_CURRENT_CONFIG> System > CurrentControlSet > Control > Print > Printers > *6500* - (delete any HP printer folders and the folders of any printer not in use)
After this please restart the desktop, and then install the Download and run the full feature software and drivers below. (select your OS)
