Hi Dan's dad.
I decided to be 100% sure that I have tested this with the Alternative Letterhead mode both OFF
and ON. I had forgotten where I found it in the Control Panel Menu so I looked in the service manual for
guaidance and discovered it is located in the System Setup Menu under Tray Behaviour. The manual says
that it is found between Use Another Tray and Duplex Blank Pages sub-menus. This is wierd, I checked on the printer
control panel menu and also on the EWS Settings Page and nowhere was there a sub-menu entitled "Alternative
Letterhead Mode". It simply does not exist on my printer. Perhaps that does point to a firmware issue?
I began to wonder where I had found the Alternative Letterhead Mode setting in the first place. Eventually,
I discovered the setting I had used was in the driver properties in Printer Defaults under the Advanced tab,.
So, I have done some more tests with this driver setting set to both OFF and ON and it still does not make any
difference.
I think I will re-install the firmware to see if the missing Alternative Letterhead mode suddenly appears in the
Tray Behaviour sub-menu. I don't have the very latest f/w revision installed so, if that doesn't work, I might
try to install the latest rev.
Didn't realise that I was posting on the Consumer Forum. Appreciate the link to the Business Forum you provided.
Thanks for your suggestions and comments.
