I have successfully used my LaserJet M1319f for manual two-sided printing under Windows 7. But under Windows 8, when I select two-sided printing, I see a short alert on the computer screen to turn the pages over, but when I do the same as I used to under Windows 7, the back side pages come out upside down and in reverse order.
Even if I turn the pages around so the back is not upside down, they still are in the wrong order. It is just as if the software doesn't make the necessary translation to print the second side in the right orientation and in the right order.
The message on the computer screen is much less detailed than the pictures I got under Windows 7. I donn't need a detailed explanation any longer, but the short message without pictures seems to correlate to the improper printing of the second side.
I have loaded the latest Windows 8 driver from HP.com.
