Envy 4500 won't print whole document

My HP envoy printer won't print the whole of any documents sent to print. It usually gets 50% through before an error message very briefly displays on the computer screen and the rest of the document fails to print. This happens when sending documents to print from windows 8 laptop, but not when I send documents to print from the iPad. Any ideas? Thanks!
