Re: HP ENVY 7640 prints with horizontal white (blank) lines across short dimension of paper

This problem was never resolved and HP does not seem to be interested in resolving it !

The problem still exists more than 3 years after I first discovered and reported it.

HP's folks who listen to complaints told me that they are aware of the problem.

But, no action has been taken to fix the problem.

Apparently, every ENVY, DeskJet, and OfficeJet printer has the same "print engine" ... whether it be hardware, software, firmware , etc.., since I have been able to demonstrate the problem using any store's display models.

The problem is built into the design and manufacturing of the printers, since the problems can be demonstrated using only the printers, by printing test pages.  The printers just need to be plugged into an AC outlet.

You do not need to have a printer "talking" to any external computer, to demonstrate the problems.

It really irks me that a company like HP who used to have a reputation for designing, manufacturing and suppporing great products (especially, initially, frequency generators and scientific calculators) is doing nothing to correct printer problems that can be reproduced on such a wide range of inkjet models.  They are just taking advantage of their customers by selling them defective products.  I have been using HP equipment since 1973 when the HP-35 RPN Scientific Calculator was introduced.

HP equipment today isn't anywhere near as durable as it was back then.  I am not saying that all of their products are bad.

I owned an HP laptop for 9.5 years, and it has worked well ... Windows Vista and other software installed on it  hasn't.

But, the HP inkjet printers for the past several years, definitely have had problems, which are repeatable.

i don't understand why HP isn't listening to detailed information from their customers, so that they can correct and improve their products, unless they feel that making profit on defective products is better than investing to create better products to keep customers.

If you search through the HP forums using my name or printer models as search criteria, you will find great information that I have provided in describing other printer problems, and helping to resolve problems reported by others.
