@sharanperry, Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
The message you're seeing "Your account must be fixed before the printer can print" typically appears on HP+ or Instant Ink-enrolled printers when there's an issue with your HP Smart account, printer registration, or internet connectivity.

Here are the steps to resolve it:

Check Internet Connection

  • Ensure your printer is connected to the internet. HP+ and Instant Ink printers require an active internet connection to function.
  • On the printer control panel, verify the Wi-Fi icon is solid blue.
  • If not, reconnect using the Wireless Setup Wizard.

Update the HP Smart App

  • Open your device’s browser and go to 123.hp.com.
  • Download or update the HP Smart app to the latest version.

Sign In to HP Smart Account

  • Open the HP Smart app. HP Smart
  • Click the Account icon (top right) and ensure you're signed in with the same HP account used during printer setup.
  • If you're already signed in, sign out and sign back in to refresh the session.

Check HP Smart Dashboard

  • Visit your HP Smart account dashboard.
  • Under Printers, ensure your printer is listed and shows as connected.
  • If not, click Add Printer and follow the prompts.

Remove and Re-add the Printer

  • In the HP Smart app:
    • Right-click your printer > Hide Printer> confirm.
    • Click Add Printer and follow the setup steps again.

Reset Web Services (if needed)

Still not working?

If the issue persists, try restoring the printer to factory defaults:

  • Access the EWS > Settings > Restore Defaults.
  • Reconnect to Wi-Fi and re-add the printer in HP Smart.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
