Hi @LetiziaP1,
Thank you so much for getting back. I truly understand how frustrating this must be, especially after you've already tried everything, and I’m sorry the earlier steps didn’t resolve the issue.
Let’s acknowledge that your HP LaserJet MFP M139we is likely dealing with a firmware lockout or connectivity corruption, which can sometimes happen after prolonged inactivity or mismatched toner recognition. Since you’ve already done most of the steps, it does narrow things down to one of the following:
HP Smart App via USB Recovery (Bypass Wi-Fi)
Connect the printer directly to your laptop via USB
Open the HP Smart App
If it detects the printer in “Setup” or “Offline” state, click on it
Navigate to Printer Settings > Advanced Settings > Restore Network Defaults
Reconfigure Wi-Fi from within the app
Sometimes the printer can’t reset unless it’s "online" in HP Smart via USB.
Use HP Easy Start Recovery Mode
Disconnect the printer from Wi-Fi
Plug it into your computer via USB
Download and run HP Easy Start (Search for your M139we model)
The tool will check for firmware issues and allow recovery even if the printer’s panel is unresponsive
Printer Firmware Recovery (Manual USB Tool)
If all else fails, try flashing firmware directly:
Go to HP Firmware Recovery Page
Download the Firmware Recovery Utility
Plug in your printer via USB and follow the instructions to reinstall firmware forcefully
Reboot and check the status of lights/Wi-Fi
I hope this helps.
