I understand you're receiving printer troubles with the Officejet 6600. I will do my best to assist you! How is this printer connected? Wireless or USB?
What is your operating system on your computer? Windows or Mac?
I would recommend plugging this printer into a direct wall, not a surge protector. Try making a copy after performing this step to see if this makes a difference. Also, try resetting the printer.
