Hi @Yogisarah,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

I understand how frustrating this can be, especially when it was working just fine yesterday. That error message typically indicates a problem with the printer's network connection or with how macOS is resolving the printer’s network name over Bonjour

Step 1: Check Printer's Wi-Fi Connection

  • On the printer's touchscreen, go to Wi-Fi Settings > Wireless Summary or Wireless Setup Wizard.
  • Make sure it's connected to the same Wi-Fi network as your MacBook.
  • If not, reconnect it to your Wi-Fi network.

Step 2: Reboot Everything in the Correct Order

  1. Turn off your printer.
  2. Shut down your Mac.
  3. Restart your Wi-Fi router (unplug for 30 seconds, plug back in).
  4. Wait 2–3 minutes.
  5. Turn on the printer, and wait for it to connect to Wi-Fi.
  6. Turn on your MacBook and try printing again.

Step 3: Reset the Printing System on macOS

⚠️ This will remove all printers from your system, so only do this if you're okay re-adding your printers afterwards.

  1. Go to System Settings > Printers & Scanners.
  2. Right-click (or Control-click) in the printer list and choose “Reset printing system…”.
  3. Confirm.
  4. Then, click the “+” to add your printer again.
Choose the one that shows “Bonjour” or “AirPrint” in the Kind column.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
