Hi @Yogisarah,
Welcome to the HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.
I understand how frustrating this can be, especially when it was working just fine yesterday. That error message typically indicates a problem with the printer's network connection or with how macOS is resolving the printer’s network name over Bonjour
Step 1: Check Printer's Wi-Fi Connection
- On the printer's touchscreen, go to Wi-Fi Settings > Wireless Summary or Wireless Setup Wizard.
- Make sure it's connected to the same Wi-Fi network as your MacBook.
- If not, reconnect it to your Wi-Fi network.
Step 2: Reboot Everything in the Correct Order
- Turn off your printer.
- Shut down your Mac.
- Restart your Wi-Fi router (unplug for 30 seconds, plug back in).
- Wait 2–3 minutes.
- Turn on the printer, and wait for it to connect to Wi-Fi.
- Turn on your MacBook and try printing again.
Step 3: Reset the Printing System on macOS
⚠️ This will remove all printers from your system, so only do this if you're okay re-adding your printers afterwards.
- Go to System Settings > Printers & Scanners.
- Right-click (or Control-click) in the printer list and choose “Reset printing system…”.
- Confirm.
- Then, click the “+” to add your printer again.
Choose the one that shows “Bonjour” or “AirPrint” in the Kind column.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
