@Mit_8, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding HP Deskjet 1510 Printer: Output Tray Closed Error!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

If you are receiving an error message indicating that the output tray is closed on your HP Deskjet 1510 series printer, but the tray is actually open, you can try the following troubleshooting steps to resolve the issue:

Check and Re-seat the Output Tray:

  • Remove the output tray completely and then gently reinsert it. Ensure it is fully extended and properly aligned with the printer's body.

Inspect for Obstructions:

  • Look inside the printer and around the output tray area for any paper scraps, debris, or objects that might be blocking the tray sensor. Clear any obstructions found.

Update the Printer Firmware:

  • Visit the HP Support Website and check for any available firmware updates for your HP Deskjet 1510 series printer. Updating the firmware can fix bugs that might cause such errors.

Restart the Printer:

  • Turn off the printer, unplug it from the power source, wait for about a minute, then plug it back in and power it on. This can reset any intermittent issues affecting the printer's sensors.

Check the Output Tray Sensor:

  • Make sure the mechanism that senses the tray's position is not damaged or stuck. Consult the printer's manual for the exact location of the sensor, and clean it if accessible.

Hope this helps!

Take care, and have an amazing day!
