@Les372258, Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
The error you're seeing — "filter failed" and "Les Sims"— typically means that the macOS printer system can't process the print job due to a misconfigured or incompatible printer driver.
HP ENVY Photo 7155 All-in-One Printer supports upto MacOs 15.
Please follow these steps,
Reset the Printing System
This clears out any corrupted drivers or queues:
- Go to System Settings> Printers & Scanners.
- Right-click (or Control + Click) in the printer list and choose Reset printing system.
- Confirm the reset. This removes all printers and scanners.
- Re-add your printer manually.
Remove Old HP Software
To avoid conflicts:
- Open Finder> Applications.
- Delete any HP or HP Smart-related software (right-click > Move to Trash).
- Then, go to:
~/Library/Printers/ and remove the hp folder if present.
(Use Finder > Go > Go to Folder... and paste the path above.)
Reinstall the Printer Using AirPrint
AirPrint is Apple’s built-in driverless printing system and usually works flawlessly:
- Connect your HP 7155 via Wi-Fi or USB.
- Go to System Settings> Printers & Scanners.
- Click the + button to add a printer.
- Wait for your HP 7155 to appear.
- Under "Use:", make sure AirPrint is selected (not HP driver).
- Click Add.
Optional: Use HP Smart App
HP Smart adds scanning support and other features:
- Download it from the Mac App Store.
- Open the app and re-add your HP 7155 from there.
