@Sowulo_1111, Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
When an HP OfficeJet 4652 printer is unplugged abruptly and won’t power back on—only flashing the screen once—this usually indicates a power-related issue, either with the power supply, internal power components, or a firmware fault caused by the sudden loss of power.

Here's a step-by-step approach to troubleshoot this:

Basic Power Reset

  • Unplug the power cable from both the printer and the wall.
  • Wait 1–2 minutes.
  • Press and hold the Power button on the printer for 30 seconds to discharge any residual power.
  • Plug the power cable directly into a wall outlet (avoid power strips or surge protectors).
  • Plug it into the printer and try powering it on again.

Check the Power Module

  • Ensure you're using the original HP power adapter (output: 32V / 12V).
  • Check the adapter for:

Burnt smell

Fraying

Loose plug ends

  • If you have a multimeter, you can test if it’s outputting the correct voltage.

Note: Faulty adapters are a common cause of this issue. If you suspect it’s dead, replacing the power adapter is often a solution.

Try a Different Outlet

  • Move the printer to a known working outlet in a different room.
  • This rules out circuit-specific issues or surges affecting that outlet.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
