It sounds like your HP OfficeJet Pro 6230 is stuck in an error state. Here are some steps to troubleshoot the issue:
Step 1: Perform a Power Reset
- With the printer turned on, unplug the power cord from the back of the printer.
- Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.
- Wait for at least 60 seconds.
- Plug the power cord back into the wall outlet and then into the printer.
- Turn on the printer and check if the issue persists.
Step 2: Check for Paper Jams or Obstructions
- Open the printer and inspect for any paper jams or debris.
- Ensure the print carriage can move freely. If it’s stuck, gently move it to the center.
Step 3: Reset the Printer
- Disconnect the power cord while the printer is on.
- Press and hold the Power button for 30 seconds.
- Reconnect the power cord and turn the printer back on.
Step 4: Update Firmware
- If the printer powers on normally, check for firmware updates on the HP Support website.
- Install the latest firmware to ensure the printer operates correctly.
