@Wetzy, Welcome to HP Support Community,

Thank you for posting your query; I’m here to help by guiding you through steps to resolve this issue

If your HP ENVY Photo 7855 All-In-One Printer is not powering up properly and is getting stuck on the first dot, here are a few troubleshooting steps you can follow:

Power Reset:

  • Disconnect the power cord from the printer while it is turned on.
  • Unplug the power cord from the power source.
  • Wait for about 60 seconds.
  • Reconnect the power cord to the power source and then to the printer.
  • Try powering on the printer again.

Check Power Source:

  • Ensure that the power outlet is working properly by plugging in another electronic device.
  • Make sure that you are using the power cord that came with your printer.

Remove Any Additional Hardware:

  • Disconnect any additional hardware or accessories connected to the printer such as a USB drive, Ethernet cable, or fax cable.
  • Power on the printer with only the power cord connected.

Run HP Print and Scan Doctor (Windows only):

Update Printer Firmware (Update the firmware on an HP printer | HP® Support)

  • Go to the HP Customer Support - Software and Driver Downloads page. Enter your printer model number and search for the latest firmware update. Follow the instructions to download and install the firmware update.

I hope this helps.

Please feel free to reply here if you have any questions or if you need further clarification on any of the steps.

Take care and have a good day.
