Hi @poogleshmoogle,
Welcome to the HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.
Thank you so much for reaching out and sharing your printing experience. We truly understand how frustrating it is when you’re excited to print on special media like sticker paper, only for it to get ejected midway.
The HP Officejet Pro 8030 series is designed to handle a variety of media types, but there are a few key details to keep in mind:
- It supports media up to 110 lb index (about 200 gsm) for plain paper types.
- For speciality papers like sticker or label paper, it's best to stay under 220 gsm (ideally 90–200 gsm).
- If your paper is 227 gsm, it may slightly exceed the maximum supported weight and lead to feeding or jamming issues, especially if the surface is glossy or adhesive-backed.
Steps to Improve Sticker Paper Handling
Try the following adjustments to increase success with heavier or sticker paper:
1. Use Rear Tray (if available) or Adjust Tray Loading
- Unfortunately, the 8030 does not have a rear feed tray.
- Instead, load only 1–3 sheets of sticker paper at a time in the main tray.
- Make sure the paper is flat (not curled) and the guides are snug but not tight.
2. Change Paper Type Settings
- Go to your Print Settings > Printer Properties before printing.
- Under Paper Type or Media, choose:
- Heavyweight, Glossy, or Label Paper, if available.
- Under Paper Size, ensure the exact dimensions are selected.
3. Reduce Print Speed
- Still in Print Settings, go to Advanced > Print Quality, and choose:
- Best or Maximum DPI to reduce speed and improve grip.
4. Clean the Paper Feed Rollers
- Dust or residue may cause the printer to reject thicker paper.
- You can clean the rollers by:
- Turning off the printer and unplugging it.
- Opening the input tray and gently wiping the feed rollers with a lint-free cloth dampened with distilled water.
- Allow them to dry fully before turning the printer back on.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
