A constantly blinking attention light on the HP LaserJet M110w typically indicates a hardware or supply issue, often related to the toner cartridge, paper, or connectivity. Since you've already tried the basics like power cycling, reseating the cartridge, shaking the drum, and ensuring the lid is properly closed, here are some deeper troubleshooting steps to try:
Check the Cartridge Chip
- Even if the cartridge is clicked in, remove it again and gently wipe the cartridge chip (the small copper/gold contact) with a soft lint-free cloth.
- Check for any visible damage, debris, or ink on the chip or the contacts inside the printer.
- If you're using a non-HP or refilled cartridge, the printer may not recognize it properly.
Printer Cover Sensor Check
- Even though you closed the lid tightly, sometimes the cover sensor doesn't engage properly.
- Gently press down on the top of the printer above the cartridge while it’s on. If the light stops blinking, the lid sensor may be misaligned or faulty.
Check for Jammed or Misfed Paper
- Open the printer and fully remove any paper inside, even small scraps.
- Remove and reinsert the input tray, and try loading just a few sheets of paper.
- If a paper jam occurred recently, the sensor flag inside might be stuck.
Reset the Printer (Semi-Reset)
- Turn off the printer.
- Hold down the Cancel button (X).
- While holding, turn the printer on, and keep holding the button for about 15 seconds, then release. This can clear some sensor or memory errors.
