@Myda2, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding your printer!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

If your HP printer does not turn on or respond when you use the Power button or switch, follow these detailed steps based on your printer's power supply type:

Internal Power Supply

Recycle Power to the Printer:

  • Disconnect the power cord from the printer.
  • Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet, power strip, or surge protector.
  • After 60 seconds, reconnect the power cord to the printer and plug it directly into the wall outlet.
  • Press and release the Power button or toggle the Power switch.

Test the Power Source with Another Power Cord:

  • Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.
  • Connect the printer to a different working outlet.
  • If the printer turns on, stop troubleshooting. If not, try a different power cord with the same connector.
  • If none of the cords work, replace the power module via the HP Parts Store.

External Power Supply

Check Compatibility of the External Power Module:

  • Ensure the voltage and amperage specifications on the power module match those on the printer.
  • If not compatible, obtain a replacement module from the HP Parts Store.

Recycle Power to the Printer:

  • Unplug the power cord for at least 60 seconds and reconnect it directly to the wall outlet.
  • Perform the Power On/Off cycle as described earlier.

Hope this helps!

Take care, and have an amazing day!
