Re: SUPPLY SYSTEM PROBLEM

If your HP OfficeJet Pro 8710 is showing a "Supply System Problem" error, follow these troubleshooting steps to resolve the issue:

1. Reset the Printer

  1. Turn off the printer using the power button.
  2. Disconnect the power cord from the back of the printer.
  3. Wait for 60 seconds.
  4. Reconnect the power cord to the back of the printer.
  5. Turn on the printer.

2. Check the Ink Cartridges

Remove and Reinsert Ink Cartridges:

  • Lift the ink cartridge access door.
  • Remove all the ink cartridges.
  • Ensure there is no debris or obstruction in the cartridge slots.
  • Reinsert the cartridges firmly.

Inspect Cartridges for Damage:

  • Check each cartridge for damage or leaking ink.
  • Replace any damaged or leaking cartridges.

Clean Cartridge Contacts:

  • Wipe the copper-colored contacts on the cartridges with a lint-free cloth slightly dampened with distilled water.
  • Allow the contacts to dry for a few minutes before reinserting the cartridges.

3. Update Printer Firmware

  1. Check for Firmware Updates:
    • Ensure your printer firmware is up-to-date. Visit the HP support website and download the latest firmware updates.
    • Follow the instructions to install the firmware update.

4. Perform a Printer Diagnostics

  1. Run the HP Print and Scan Doctor:

5. Check the Printhead

  1. Remove and Clean the Printhead:
    • Turn off the printer and lift the ink cartridge access door.
    • Remove all ink cartridges.
    • Lift the latch handle on the right side of the print carriage.
    • Remove the printhead.
    • Clean the printhead contacts with a lint-free cloth dampened with distilled water.
    • Reinsert the printhead and cartridges, and close the access door.
