If you have purchased genuine HP cartridges and you are receiving the error message "one or more cartridges appear to be damaged. Remove them and replace with new cartridges," follow these steps to resolve the issue:
Verify Cartridge Authenticity: Ensure that the cartridges are genuine HP cartridges by checking the packaging
Check Cartridge Installation:
- Open the ink access door.
- Make sure the cartridges are properly installed in their respective color slots.
- Remove the cartridges and reinstall them firmly to ensure proper electrical contact.
Clean Electrical Contacts:
- Remove the cartridge from the printer.
- Using a lint-free cloth, gently wipe the electrical contacts on the cartridge.
- Avoid touching the contacts with fingers or any other material.
- Reinstall the cartridge.
Restart the Printer:
- Turn off the printer.
- Unplug the power cord from the back of the printer and wait for 30 seconds.
- Plug the power cord back in and turn on the printer.
Use Setup Cartridges: If the printer was recently set up, make sure to use the Setup cartridges that came with the printer. These are required for initial setup.
Replace the Cartridge:
- If the above steps do not resolve the issue, you may need to replace the cartridge again.
- For cartridges still under warranty, contact HP support for a replacement.
Take care, and have an amazing day!
