Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding your Orange Light Flashing on HP Printer!
We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.
If your HP printer displays an orange triangle light (yellow bang) when connected via USB to your Lenovo computer running Microsoft Windows, this often indicates a connection or driver issue. Here’s how to troubleshoot and resolve this problem:
1. Understand the issue:
When connecting an HP printer to an ARM 64-bit computer with a USB cable, the following issues can be seen:
- A Driver is unavailable message displays under the printer name in Printers & Scanners.
- A yellow triangle (yellow bang) displays next to the printer icon in Devices and Printers.
- A yellow bang and Troubleshoot selection display in the printer's right-click menu in Devices and Printers.
- In Device Manager, the printer is listed under Print queues and in Other devices with a yellow bang.
2. Steps to Resolve:
Disconnect USB Connection:
Disconnect the printer from the USB connection and install the printer over a Wi-Fi connection. This method can often bypass issues related to the plug-and-play drivers for USB composite devices.
Set Up Network Printer:
To set up a network printer in Windows without installing additional drivers:
Allow Windows to Download Manufacturer Drivers:
- Search Windows for and open Change device installation settings, and then make sure Yes (recommended) is selected.
Connect Printer to Network:
- Wi-Fi Connection:
- For printers with a touchscreen control panel: Open the Setup, Network, or Wireless settings menu, select Wireless Setup Wizard, and then follow the instructions to select the network name and enter the password.
- For most printers without a touchscreen control panel: Press and hold the Wireless button for five seconds or until the wireless light starts to flash. Within two minutes, press and hold the WPS (Wi-Fi Protected Setup) button on the router until the connection process begins. The printer wireless light will stop flashing when the connection completes.
- For HP Deskjet 6000 and 6400, ENVY 6000 and 6400, and Tango printers: Press and hold the Wi-Fi button and the Power button on the back of the printer for five seconds until the blue bar flashes. Within two minutes, press and hold the WPS button on the router until the connection process begins. The blue bar stops flashing when the connection completes.
- Wired (Ethernet) Connection:
- Connect the network cable to the printer Ethernet port and to an available port on the router or access point. At the printer port, the green light should be steady and the orange activity light should blink.
Hope this helps!
Take care, and have an amazing day!
