Hi @Andingone

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for posting your query! We're here to help you get back up and running.

The error code 00829c98 on your printer typically indicates a critical issue that prevents the printer from booting properly.

Since you've already tried power cycling and cleaning the printheads, here are some additional steps you can consider:

1. Perform a Hard Reset

  • Turn off the printer and unplug it from the power source.
  • Disconnect all cables, including USB or network connections.
  • Wait for at least 60 seconds, then plug the printer directly into a wall outlet (avoid surge protectors) and turn it on.

2. Inspect for Hardware Issues

  • Open the printer and check for any visible obstructions, debris, or damage to internal components.
  • Ensure the printhead carriage moves freely and is not stuck.

3. Update Firmware (if possible)

  • If the printer boots up briefly, try updating the firmware. You can do this via the HP Smart app or by connecting the printer to a computer and using HP's firmware update tool.

4. Factory Reset

  • If the printer allows, perform a factory reset. This option is usually available in the Setup or Tools menu on the printer's control panel.
However, this may not be possible if the error prevents access to the menu.

If this solution hits the spot, please come back and click "Accepted Solution" to help others find the answer. And if you'd like to say thanks, select "Yes" on the bottom left of the public post, as that would make our day! 😊

Take care, and have an amazing day!

Regards,
