If your HP Envy 5660 is displaying a blue touchscreen with the code B8437582 and is unresponsive, it typically indicates a firmware or hardware error. Here’s a step-by-step troubleshooting guide to help you resolve the issue:
✅ Step 1: Hard Reset the Printer
- Power off the printer by disconnecting the power cord from the wall.
- Wait for 1–2 minutes.
- Hold down the Power button, then plug the power cord back in while still holding the button.
- Keep holding the button for about 15 seconds until the screen flickers or the printer starts.
This may trigger a semi-full reset and help get the printer out of the error state.
✅ Step 2: Check for Firmware Recovery Mode
If the screen remains blue or shows the error code:
- Disconnect all cables except for the power cord.
- Visit the HP Firmware Recovery page.
- Follow the steps under “Recover the printer firmware” using your computer and a USB cable.
You’ll need:
- A USB cable
- HP’s Printer Update Utility for the Envy 5660
✅ Step 3: Re-add the Printer to Wi-Fi
Once the printer screen is functioning normally:
- On the printer touchscreen, go to Setup > Network Setup > Wireless Setup Wizard.
- Select your Wi-Fi network and enter the password.
- On your Dell laptop, go to Settings > Bluetooth & devices > Printers & scanners.
- Click Add a printer and follow the steps.
If the wireless option still fails, try connecting via USB first to ensure the printer works, then switch to wireless.
✅ Step 4: Reinstall Printer on Laptop
If you continue to experience issues:
- Remove the printer from your Dell:
- Go to Settings > Devices > Printers & Scanners.
- Select the Envy 5660 and click Remove device.
- Download and run the HP Smart App.
- Use the app to reconnect your printer wirelessly.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
