Bit of a shot in the dark.
My Samsung CLX-3175FW printer started showing the message "Image error, reset printer" when it turns on. I'm unable to access the Menu in this state to do a software reset. The manual doesn't give any alternatives to hard reset the printer. I also tried shutting it off for like a week but it didn't help.
Some forums said most likely the firmware is corrupted. I am able to enter "Download Mode" by holding Stop while powering on the printer. I can upload the firmware file I have (from old Samsung website) but it doesn't start installing and after 20 seconds or so it goes back to "Image error reset printer" (if I don't upload firmware it'll keep showing "Wait image" forever).
1) Is there any other way to hardware reset the printer as the error says?
2) Is the corrupted firmware blocking installation of new firmware?
3) The firmware I'm using is named "CLX3175FW...", but it's possible I'm using the wrong version. Is there any place to find older firmware versions for this printer? The Samsung and HP websites don't provide downloads for this printer's firmware anymore.
