Hi @Frankgreene46,
Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding your printer!
We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.
Follow these steps to resolve the issue:
1. Clear any remaining paper jams:
- From the input tray: Pull the paper gently out of the input tray.
- From the output tray: Pull the paper gently out of the output tray.
- From the cartridge access area: Open the cartridge access door, slide the print carriage to the right, and remove any jammed paper.
- Inside the printer: Open the cleanout door located on the bottom of the printer, press tabs on both sides of the cleanout door, and remove the jammed paper.
- In the automatic document feeder (ADF): Lift the cover of the ADF, lift the tab on the front edge of the ADF, and gently pull the paper out of the rollers.
2. Check for obstructions in the carriage path:
- Disconnect the power cord from the printer while it is on.
- Open the door to access the carriage inside the printer.
- Remove any debris or obstructions found in the carriage path.
- Use your hand to move the carriage to each side to ensure it moves freely.
- Close the carriage access door and reconnect the power cord.
3. Reset the printer:
- Press the power button to turn off the printer. If the printer does not turn off, disconnect the power cord.
- Unplug the power cord from the power source.
- Wait for 60 seconds.
- Connect the power cord directly to a wall outlet and to the printer.
- Turn on the printer.
Let me know how it goes.
