Re: every time i try to print from the web, it goes to the fax page asking for the fax recipients #

To resolve the issue where your HP ENVY 7640 e-All-in-One Printer defaults to the fax option instead of printing, follow these steps:

Set the Printer as the Default Printer

Open Control Panel:

  • Right-click the Windows Start button and select "Control Panel".
  • Alternatively, type "Control Panel" in the search box.

Navigate to Devices and Printers:

  • Click "View devices and printers".

Set Default Printer:

  • Locate your HP ENVY 7640 printer listed under "Printers".
  • Right-click your printer icon and select "Set as default printer".

Disable Fax Option

Open Printer Preferences:

  • Right-click the HP ENVY 7640 printer icon again and select "Printer properties".

Access Fax Settings:

  • In the printer properties window, navigate to the "Ports" tab.
  • Make sure the correct printer port is configured, and not the fax.

Check Print Settings in Web Browser

Access Browser Print Settings:

  • When printing from the web, go to the print dialog by pressing Ctrl + P.

Select Correct Printer:

  • Ensure that the selected printer is your HP ENVY 7640 and not the fax option.
  • If the fax is selected by default, change it to the correct printer and complete the printing process.
