Hi @Rondeau1953,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

The E0 error on your HP DeskJet 4152e printer typically indicates an issue with the printer's hardware, often related to the ink cartridges, paper feed, or internal printer components. Here are some steps to troubleshoot and resolve the E0 error:

Step 1: Check the Ink Cartridges

Turn off the Printer:

  • Power off the printer and unplug it from the power source.
  • Open the printer’s ink cartridge access door.
  • Remove the ink cartridges carefully and check for any visible issues, such as loose connections, dirt, or ink residue.
  • Ensure that the ink cartridges are correctly installed and seated properly
  • Gently clean the metal contacts on both the ink cartridges and inside the printer with a lint-free cloth or a cotton swab slightly dampened with water.
  • Let the cartridges dry for a few minutes, then reinsert them.
  • Carefully reinstall the ink cartridges and close the access door.
  • Plug the printer back in and power it on.

Step 2: Check the Paper Tray and Paper Feed

  • Inspect the paper tray and the printer’s paper feed mechanism for any paper jams or obstructions. If you find any, gently remove the jammed paper.
  • Make sure that the paper is loaded properly and that the paper tray is aligned correctly.
  • Ensure that you are using the appropriate paper for the printer (e.g., standard letter-size paper, or the type recommended by the printer).

Step 3: Reset the Printer

  1. Perform a Hard Reset:
    • Turn off the printer and unplug it from the power source.
    • Wait for about 60 seconds.
    • Plug the printer back in and turn it on again.

Step 4: Check for Firmware or Software Updates

  1. Update Printer Firmware:
    • Sometimes, an outdated firmware can cause issues. You can check for firmware updates through the HP Smart app or by visiting the HP Support website.
    • Install any available updates for your printer.

I hope this helps.
