@IB30, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding your HP Deskjet!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

I understand how frustrating it can be when your printer slows down. Let's troubleshoot the issue step by step:

Check Print Settings:

  • Ensure the print quality is not set to "Best" or "High Resolution," as this can slow down printing. Try setting it to "Draft" or "Normal" mode.
  • Go to Control Panel > Devices and Printers > Right-click on HP DeskJet 4100 > Printing Preferences and adjust the settings.

Clear Print Queue:

  • A long queue of pending print jobs can cause delays.
  • Go to Control Panel > Devices and Printers > HP DeskJet 4100 > See what’s printing, then cancel unnecessary print jobs.

Update or Reinstall Printer Drivers:

  • Visit HP Support and check for any driver updates for your printer model.
  • If necessary, uninstall and reinstall the printer drivers.

Check for Low Ink Levels:

  • Low ink levels can cause slower printing. Replace any low or empty cartridges.

Connectivity Issues:

  • If you are using a wireless connection, ensure that the signal is strong. Try using a USB connection for faster performance.

Restart Printer and Computer:

  • Turn off the printer and unplug it for 30 seconds, then restart it. Also, restart your computer before trying again.

If the issue persists, let me know any error messages you see, and I'll be happy to assist you further.

Take care, and have an amazing day!
