Restart the Printer
- Turn off the printer and unplug it from the power source.
- Wait 60 seconds, then plug it back in and turn it on.
- Check if the error message is gone.
Check for Small Paper Pieces
- Open the Automatic Document Feeder (ADF) cover.
- Inspect for any small paper fragments stuck inside.
- Use a flashlight to check deep inside the feeder.
- Remove any debris gently.
Clean the ADF Rollers
- Turn off the printer and unplug it.
- Open the ADF and locate the rollers and separator pad.
- Dampen a lint-free cloth with distilled water and wipe the rollers.
- Let them dry for a few minutes before closing the ADF.
Reset the Printer
- Unplug the printer while it is on.
- Wait 2-3 minutes before plugging it back in.
- Power it on and check if the message disappears.
Run an ADF Sensor Check
- Open the HP Smart app or printer control panel.
- Navigate to Settings > Printer Maintenance > Clean Scanner and ADF.
- Follow on-screen instructions to complete the process.
Perform a Firmware Update
- Go to HP Support Website and check for the latest firmware update.
- Download and install any available updates.
