This issue could be due to a communication problem between the HP Officejet 4630 and your laptop.
- Ensure the Printer is On– Make sure your printer is powered on and connected to the same network as your laptop (if using Wi-Fi).
- Check Connections– If using a USB connection, try a different port or cable.
Try these steps:
Restart Devices
- Restart both your printer and laptop to refresh the connection.
Run HP Print and Scan Doctor
- Download and run HP Print and Scan Doctor to automatically diagnose and fix scanning issues.
Check Scanner Status
- Open Control Panel→ Devices and Printers→ Right-click on your HP Officejet 4630→ Click Start Scan to see if it works.
Verify Windows Image Acquisition (WIA) Service
- Press Win + R, type services.msc, and press Enter.
- Find Windows Image Acquisition (WIA).
- Right-click and select Restart (Ensure it's set to Automatic).
Reinstall HP Printer Software
- Uninstall the current HP printer software:
- Go to Control Panel→ Programs and Features.
- Find HP Officejet 4630 and uninstall it.
- Download and install the latest driver from HP Support.
Try Windows Scan or HP Smart App
- Use Windows Fax and Scan (search for it in Start menu).
- Alternatively, install HP Smart App from the Microsoft Store.
Check Firewall & Antivirus
- Temporarily disable your firewall and antivirus software to see if they're blocking the scan.
After these steps, try scanning again. Let me know if you need further help! 😊
Take care, and have an amazing day!
