@rmessick, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding bluescreen issue!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

Since you've already restored the network settings and attempted to reconnect the printer, but the WiFi remains disabled, try these additional troubleshooting steps:

Check Embedded Web Server (EWS) Settings

  • Access your printer's Embedded Web Server (EWS) by typing its IP address into your web browser.
  • Go to the Network or Wireless Settings section.
  • Ensure that Wireless Direct or Wi-Fi is not disabled.
  • Look for any "Administrator Settings" that might restrict WiFi access.

Perform a Semi-Full Reset

A semi-full reset can restore all settings, including network-related configurations:

  1. Turn off the printer.
  2. Unplug the power cord from the printer and the wall outlet.
  3. Wait 1-2 minutes.
  4. Replug the power cord and turn the printer back on.
  5. Check if WiFi is now available.

Check Router and Printer Compatibility

  • Make sure your router is broadcasting on a 2.4GHz frequency, as some HP printers do not support 5GHz networks.
  • If your router has MAC address filtering enabled, temporarily disable it and try reconnecting.

Use HP Smart App or HP Print & Scan Doctor

  • If available, try using the HP Smart App (on a phone or PC) to detect and reconnect the printer.
  • If you're using a Windows PC, try HP Print & Scan Doctor to diagnose network-related issues.

Check for Security Settings Restrictions

  • If the printer was previously set up by someone else, an admin lock might be in place.
  • In the EWS, look for security settings that restrict network changes.

Manual Firmware Update via USB

Since the printer is now operational (but without WiFi), update the firmware manually:

  1. Download the latest firmware update from the HP Support Website.
  2. Transfer the firmware file to a USB drive.
  3. Insert the USB into the printer and follow the on-screen update instructions.

Let me know if any of these steps help or if you need more details! 🚀

Take care, and have an amazing day!
