Hi @mi730,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

It sounds like your HP Smart Tank 515 has a persistent paper feed/ejection issue, possibly related to the rollers or firmware. Since you've already sent it for servicing and the problem remains, try the following troubleshooting steps.

Clean the Paper Feed Rollers

  • Turn off the printer and unplug it.
  • Open the rear access door and check for any jammed paper.
  • Clean the rollers with a lint-free cloth slightly dampened with distilled water.
  • Let it dry completely before closing the panel and restarting the printer.

Adjust the Paper Settings

  • On your HP Smart app or Mac, check that the paper size and type settings match the paper you’re using.
  • Try changing the print quality settings to Normal or Best instead of Draft to see if it affects ejection.

Check for Firmware Updates

  • Update your printer’s firmware via the HP Smart app or the HP website. Sometimes firmware updates fix mechanical issues.

Perform a Power Reset

  • Turn off the printer and disconnect it from power for at least 60 seconds.
  • Plug it back in, turn it on, and try printing again.

Try Printing from Another Source

  • If you mainly print from a mobile device, test printing from your Mac or a Windows PC to see if the issue persists.

Test with Different Paper

  • Try a different brand or type of paper, ensuring it's within HP’s recommended specifications (e.g., standard 75-80 gsm A4).

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
