@shockacon, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding your HP 8138e!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

It sounds frustrating, but don't worry! Here are some steps to troubleshoot your HP 8138E printer error:

  1. Restart Everything– Turn off the printer, PC, and router. Wait for a minute, then turn them back on.
  2. Check for Paper Jams– Open the printer and check if any paper is stuck.
  3. Verify Connection– Ensure the printer is connected to the correct Wi-Fi network and that your PC recognizes it.
  4. Run HP Print and Scan Doctor– Download and run HP’s troubleshooting tool HP Print and Scan Doctor to detect and fix issues.
  5. Update Drivers– Go to HP website and update your printer drivers.
  6. Set as Default Printer– On your PC, go to Settings > Devices > Printers & Scanners, select your HP printer, and set it as default.
  7. Check Printer Queue– Go to Control Panel > Devices and Printers, right-click your printer, select See what’s printing, and clear any stuck jobs.
  8. Try a Different Connection– If using Wi-Fi, try connecting via USB.

If the issue persists, let me know if there’s an error code displayed! 🚀

Take care, and have an amazing day!
