Hi @slg1063, Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
The "Ink System Failure" error usually indicates an issue with the ink cartridges, printhead, or printer firmware. Try these steps to fix it:
Reset the Printer
- Turn off the printer and unplug it from the power source.
- Remove all ink cartridges.
- Wait 2-3 minutes.
- Plug the printer back in and turn it on.
- Reinstall the cartridges and check if the error is gone.
Clean the Printhead (For Removable Printheads)
If your printer has a removable printhead:
- Remove the ink cartridges.
- Take out the printhead carefully.
- Wipe the electrical contacts with a lint-free cloth and distilled water.
- Let it dry completely before reinserting.
Update Printer Firmware
- Go to HP Support and download the latest firmware for your model.
- Install it and restart the printer.
Use the "Clean Printhead" Utility
- On the printer’s control panel, go to Settings > Maintenance > Clean Printhead.
- Follow the on-screen instructions.
Check the Ink Cartridges
- Use genuine HP cartridges.
- If you installed new cartridges, remove and reinstall them securely.
- If an error persists, try replacing them.
Hard Reset (For Persistent Errors)
- Turn off the printer.
- Unplug it and hold the power button for 60 seconds.
- Reconnect and turn it back on.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
