If your HP ENVY Inspire 7955e printer is showing a "Load Paper" error in HP Smart, but prints fine from the Pages app and test pages, try the following troubleshooting steps to clear the error:
1. Restart HP Smart and Your Devices
- Close and reopen HP Smart.
- Restart your computer and printer.
- Check if the error disappears.
2. Check Paper Settings in HP Smart
- Open HP Smart.
- Go to Printer Settings> Preferences or Paper Handling.
- Ensure the paper size and type match the actual paper in the tray.
- Save any changes and restart HP Smart.
3. Reload Paper and Reset Printer
- Remove and reload the paper in the tray.
- Ensure the paper stack is properly aligned and not overloaded.
- Power off the printer, unplug it for 60 seconds, then power it back on.
4. Update HP Smart and Printer Firmware
- Ensure HP Smart is updated to the latest version.
- Check for firmware updates in HP Smart under Printer Settings > Advanced Settings> Printer Updates.
5. Reset HP Smart App
If the error persists, reset the HP Smart app:
- On Windows: Go to Settings> Apps> HP Smart> Advanced Options> Reset.
- On Mac: Uninstall and reinstall HP Smart.
6. Remove and Re-add Printer in HP Smart
- In HP Smart, remove the printer.
- Re-add it using “Add Printer”.
