The flashing orange light on your HP LaserJet M110we generally indicates an error or problem with the printer. Here's a guide to help you troubleshoot the issue:
1. Check for Paper Jam
One of the most common reasons for a flashing orange light is a paper jam. Even if no paper is visibly stuck, it could still be obstructing the paper path.
- Open the paper tray and toner compartment.
- Carefully check for any stuck paper and remove it.
- Close everything properly and try printing again.
2. Check Toner Cartridge
Ensure that the toner cartridge is properly installed:
- Open the printer’s front door and remove the toner cartridge.
- Check if the cartridge is securely placed and free of any protective packaging (e.g., the plastic seal or tape).
- Reinstall the toner cartridge and ensure it clicks into place.
3. Printer Door or Tray Not Properly Closed
A flashing orange light may indicate that one of the printer doors or the paper tray isn't properly closed.
- Double-check that the front door (toner compartment) and paper tray are securely closed.
- If you’ve recently replaced the paper tray, ensure it is correctly seated.
4. Check for Low Toner
If the toner cartridge is running low or out of toner, this could cause the flashing orange light.
- Check the toner level from the printer display (if available).
- Replace the toner cartridge if necessary.
5. Reset the Printer
Sometimes a simple reset can clear the error:
- Turn off the printer and unplug it from the power source.
- Wait for 30 seconds and then plug it back in.
- Turn the printer on and check if the orange light stops flashing.
