1. Check the Automatic Document Feeder (ADF)
- Open the ADF cover and look for any jammed paper or small debris.
- Remove any stuck paper carefully without tearing it.
- Wipe the rollers with a lint-free cloth dampened with distilled water to remove dust buildup.
2. Ensure Paper is Loaded Correctly
- Remove all paper from the ADF.
- Fan the pages and reload them properly aligned.
- Ensure the paper guides are not too tight against the paper stack.
3. Check ADF Sensors
- Some HP printers have small sensors that detect paper feeding.
- If dirty or obstructed, gently clean them with a dry microfiber cloth.
4. Perform a Hard Reset
- Turn off the printer.
- Unplug the power cord from both the wall outlet and printer.
- Wait 2-3 minutes.
- Plug it back in and turn the printer on.
5. Try a Different Copy/Scan Method
- If you're trying to copy, use the flatbed scanner instead of the ADF.
- If scanning from a computer, try using HP Smart or another scanning software.
6. Update or Reinstall Printer Firmware
- Visit HP Support and check for the latest firmware updates for your printer model.
