@Dink370 io9,
Thanks for reaching out to the HP Support Community! 🎉
I’m here to help you troubleshoot your issue and get things back on track. Just follow these steps below, and we’ll have you running smoothly in no time:
Power Cycle the Printer
- Turn off the printer by pressing the power button.
- Unplug the printer’s power cable from the wall socket and wait for about 30 seconds.
- Plug the power cable back in and turn the printer on.
Check the Ink Cartridges
- Open the printer’s ink cartridge access door.
- Ensure that the ink cartridges are properly installed—they should be clicked into place securely. If any cartridge is missing or not seated correctly, it might cause the setup issue.
- Check for protective tape on the cartridges (if it's a new printer) and remove any packaging or tape that could be obstructing proper installation.
Check the Paper Tray
Ensure that the paper tray is correctly inserted into the printer and contains paper. Sometimes a misaligned tray can trigger errors during the setup process.
Check Wi-Fi Connection (for wireless setup)
- If you’re connecting your printer to Wi-Fi, ensure that the printer is connected to the same Wi-Fi network as your computer or mobile device.
- Print a network configuration page to verify the printer’s Wi-Fi status:
- On the printer, navigate to Wireless or Wi-Fi Direct settings.
- Print a network configuration report.
- If the printer is not connected to Wi-Fi:
- Use the Wireless Setup Wizard on the printer screen to reconnect it to the network.
- Enter the Wi-Fi password correctly.
