It sounds like you're experiencing a frustrating issue with your HP Smart Tank printer. Here are a few steps you can try to resolve the problem:

  1. Check for Paper Jams: Ensure there are no paper jams in the printer. Even small pieces of paper can cause printing issues.
  2. Clean the Print Heads: Sometimes, clogged print heads can cause partial printing. Use the printer's maintenance menu to clean the print heads.
  3. Update Printer Firmware: Make sure your printer's firmware is up to date. You can usually find firmware updates on the HP support website.
  4. Check Printer Settings: Ensure that the print settings in your PDF, Excel, and Word applications are correct. Sometimes, incorrect settings can cause printing issues.
  5. Perform a Power Drain:
    • Turn off the printer and unplug it from the power source.
    • Wait for about 30 seconds.
    • Plug the printer back in and turn it on.
