@MisterG97, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding printer being stuck in firmware update cycle!
We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

It sounds like your HP OfficeJet Pro 8135e is stuck in a firmware update loop, which can be tricky to resolve. Since you've already tried multiple update methods without success, here are some troubleshooting steps to break the cycle:

Power Cycle & Reset Printer

Perform a hard reset:

  • Unplug the power cable while the printer is ON.
  • Wait 60 seconds and then plug it back in.
  • If prompted, skip the update and check if the printer boots up normally.

Check for error messages:

  • If the printer still reboots in a loop, proceed to the next step.

Update Firmware via USB (Using a PC)

Since the update via Wi-Fi and Ethernet failed, try a direct USB firmware update:

Download the firmware manually:

  • Visit HP Support and search for the HP OfficeJet Pro 8135e firmware update.
  • Download the latest firmware file.

Use HP Firmware Update Utility:

  • Connect your printer to the PC using a USB cable (not Wi-Fi or Ethernet).
  • Run the downloaded firmware update file and follow the instructions.

If the update fails:

  • Restart both your printer and PC, then try again.
