Hi @GrandpaKim

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

The B8000000 error on your HP printer typically indicates a hardware issue, usually related to the printer's printhead or cartridge system. The error is common in several HP models, especially when the printhead or ink cartridges are not properly seated or there is an internal malfunction.

Here’s a set of troubleshooting steps to help resolve the issue:

1. Check and Re-seat Ink Cartridges

  • Turn off the printer and unplug it.
  • Open the cartridge access door and carefully remove the ink cartridges.
  • Clean the copper contacts (on the cartridges and inside the printer) gently with a lint-free cloth or cotton swab.
  • Re-insert the cartridges, ensuring they are properly seated and secure.
  • Close the access door and plug the printer back in, then try printing again.

2. Check the Printhead

  • The printhead is responsible for transferring ink onto the paper, and it could be clogged or malfunctioning.
  • If your printer allows you to remove the printhead, carefully remove it and clean it using a soft cloth or by running it under warm water (if recommended by your printer model).
  • Let the printhead dry completely before re-inserting it back into the printer.

3. Reset the Printer

  • Perform a hard reset of the printer:
    1. Turn off the printer.
    2. Unplug it from the power source and wait for 1-2 minutes.
    3. Press and hold the power button for 30 seconds to drain any residual power.
    4. Plug the printer back in, turn it on, and check if the error persists.

4. Check for Paper Jams

  • Sometimes, the B8000000 error can be triggered if there is a paper jam or obstruction in the printer.
  • Open all available doors and check for any bits of paper or other debris stuck in the paper feed path, around the printhead, or inside the printer.
  • If you find any debris, carefully remove it.

5. Update Printer Firmware

  • Since you’ve already updated the firmware, make sure the update was successful and the printer is running the latest version. Sometimes a second update may be required if the first one didn’t apply correctly.

I hope this helps.
